Anybody have any luck rebuilding hood hinges so hood will set down in back without using a stack of shims?

Appears the rivets get wallowed out over time. If you open the hood and move it up and down, you can see the movement in the rivets. Wonder if you could remove the rivets and replace with larger bolt to take out the slack.68fish wrote:come up with a fix and tell us. I have 1.25 inches worth of shims to bring the back of hood down, no lie. Ive tried EVERYTHING and this is the only thing that works. Either my hood is bent, or hinges are bent or worn.
Did you ever put this idea to the test? Results?Txas2step wrote: ↑Thu Feb 09, 2017 8:57 amAppears the rivets get wallowed out over time.
