Thank you
Check with your local auto glass supplier. They should be
able to set you up. :2cents

I just had mine replaced. Unfortunately all that was available was an XYG glass which isn't the best but is better than a cracked one. If you can try to get a PGW or Pilkington they are a better glass. If all else fails there are several sellers on eBay.

Search up top. XYG does suck. Pilkington should still be available. PPG is probably scarce at this point.

Why isn't XYG any good? What is the problem with them? I saved a windshield out of one of my parts trucks for a spare... but I HOPE I never need it!

Thanks, I didn't know that! so.... stay away from snowflakes? HAHA!!

I don't know how true this is, but I've heard that OLDER glass gets brittle with age. So, just how "strong" are original windshields I wonder. :thinking

Key word insurance they work for next to free for them and usually give a 50% discount on the glass! Call as just a regular guy looking to have it replaced and see what the quote is. I'm sure you'll be surprised!

I got ahold of a few shops today and 3 wouldn't do one for my '68. 2 shops will. I ordered gaskets from Clester's (front and back), they should be here next week ($137 shipped to my house). Both my windows leak badly. The shop is gonna charge me $300 for new windshield and install front and back.
