Door stuck
My drivers door is locked closed. A friend thot he could help, think it is now broke. searching thru the forum for info, think it is fixable, based on the number of threads covering the topic. Just frustrating, you can't just jerk on stuff on these old trucks. Will start on it next week.

Re: Door stuck
In my experience, you usually need to lift up on the door it self to get the latch to release. Try it from the inside. They can be frustrating, even to get the latch adjusted right takes patience.

Re: Door stuck
You did not state which year. Assume it is your '66 D200. Frig handle door and most likely the drivers side. Sounds like the latch mech. in the door has failed(star wheel ).Has the door been difficult to open?Has the door dropped at all? Try lifting up on the door while pulling on the handle and have someone on inside hit the door hard. May try pushing down as well. Good luck.

Re: Door stuck
Correct, 66. Door hinges are fairly tight, no sag. Door would occasionally lock by itself, and I would have to roll down the window and unlock it with the key. Friend just jumped in and said, you have to pull harder, before I could stop him. Door still stuck, and something is rattling around. crap. May get to it Saturday, I searched thru here and found some good threads, and even pictures!!

Re: Door stuck
Sounds like it might possibly be the long flat rod that attaches the handle to the inner door latch. May have come loose.Has a tension keeper that can break allowing the rod to fall off. If the door handle was pushed forward and then the rod fell off. If the outer frig handle is real tight when you pull on it ,that may be the case. Easy to see if the door panel is removed but difficult with the door closed. Might be able to access with window down ,shine a light to the inner door latch and locate the lock part of the latch . Use a coat hanger with a hook to snag the lock hole and pull up.( assuming you don't have a key for the lock or forget all above and unlock the door. )
CORRECTION: YOU HAVE TO PUSH DOWN ON THE LOCK TAB ON THE INNER LATCH AT END OF THE DOOR.
