Hole under headlight switch

Post by Creepjohnny »

Hey guys, been trying to figure out the factory hole about 3" under the headlight switch on the left side of the steering wheel on my 71 dodge. Pics online I've seen show other trucks with the same hole. What's it for?
Thanks in advance

I thought it might be that but I thought the choke cable is next to the ash tray? Different models I guess?

The original choke cable would've gone there. Trucks with factory electric choke had plastic plugs covering that hole.

John- the vent cable is underneath there on mine
I guess it can be choke it was blocked off. My buddies 71 d100 has a 318 and the choke is next to the ash tray which is why I didn't think it would be all the way over to the left.
Thank u for the info

Mine had a switch for the gas tanks, this only did the gauge not the actual valve.

Ooh! I like that set up. Since I'm running dual tanks. May have to mock something up for that

My 69 was like Mr. Mopars since mine has a pair of travel tanks- I can see where the sticker was , but the switch and the sticker are gone now . the tanks remain. d:-)
OHHH! you definitely can't buy that new ! (boy, does that fit these trucks)
