Flat or custom bed options?

on the 65 sweptline; just thinking out loud. What are some vintage bed removal options? stakebody flatbed?
In all wood? aluminum would have been too costly in 65.

Not sure if I want to go back to the stock bed or not. just trying to up the "cool" factor a bit........
anyone opinions either way welcome......

I have been building my own flatbed on my 66, so far I have a 6'x8' flatbed made but need to finish making it. The Cold weather is holding my progress on it.

I think its tough to ""out cool" a stock Sweptline box.

Stock 57-60 Sweptside boxes are many times cooler than a 61-65 or 65.5-71 box. But they would look terrible on a Sweptline. On my Pilot House though...

Flatbeds look good on D/W 300 standard cab long wheelbase trucks. Tolerable on 100/200 long wheelbase. Shortbed versions look great if you are running big (36" or larger) mud tires, regardless of weight class. Standard cab only. Crews look best stock or with utility/wrecker beds.

If you NEED a flatbed or stake bed, build one and have at it. I really need one for farm use, but can't find or afford a 300-500 extra long wheelbase Power Wagon. Preferably one that runs 10.00-20 tires since I already have half a dozen mud tires in that size.
