These must have been swapped in by the previous owner on my 70. The center buddy seat is kinda cool, the back fold flat for an armrest and the bottom also folds up revealing a good size storage area under the buddy seat. Its weird its the right color if it was an add-on. I dont know what it come out of if it was swapped in.

The center console is factory and bucket seats would have come with them. Those seats are not original as the backs are too high and the seat shape is wrong.

There was also an earlier bucket seat package in the CSS trucks with a different console.

I kinda figured the seats werent factory, its pretty obvious, but was wondering if this truck had factory buckets originally, i guess it did from your response. They are quite comfortable. I bought the same seats many years ago from pep boys for an old Jeep(pronouced Heep in spanish, lol) thanks

True buckets from an A100/108 were an option for a short while, and are fairly rare to find. More common was a low back version of the seat you currently have. Same seat available from early CSS Sweptlines through 1993, commonly called Warlock or L'il Red Express seats. You can find them in vans also.

I am guessing this truck came with it, i would think if it was a rare option, it would be equally hard finding them if you wanted to swap them into a non bucket truck and then to match the green. On the mopar cars it would be clearly listed on the fender tag as an option, i guess the trucks didnt follow that.

Bummer someone ditched the original seats. I run lol red seats which are similar to factory with different pattern. CSS seats are different from factory standard buckets and that style went out around 1980 (the frame changed throughout the run time)

They are rare but they do come up on eBay. 3 complete different sets sold on 10/21 for $400-$500; including one that was the exact color as yours.

so how does one verify if it was original to the truck? Not that it really matters that much, just kind of interesting.
thanks

They were an option. As for verifying it , having original paperwork is about the only way. Would be nice if there were a fender tag like the cars had to show some of the options.

I would suspect that the green center console is original to the truck; and therefore, the missing seats would have been original also. The center console color matches your interior trim. Look at the bucket seat frames and see if there are new holes drilled in original frames to accommodate the seats or if new frames were swapped in with the new buckets. You will be able to find the seats with some patience. A good upholstery shop will be able to recover them and match the material/pattern closely

Thanks for the info, i may leave the high back seats, atleast for now, they are comfy and give more whiplash protection in case of an accident. We will see if i swap in originals or not down the road.
thanks
