Bucket seats?

Post by ischilf »

Hello all. I am getting tired of my worn out bench seat. I know alot of guys say use low back buckets, and I was wondering if anyone has used these seats before? I realize I will need to do some custom fab work but I think I can handle that. Does anyone see why two of these would not work?

If not in link format, try copy and paste. I worked on mine.
Thanks!

I thought the price was nice as well. I wish they had better pictures of the underside so I could see how they mount to the actual adjustment frames. I think it might be a christmas gift to myself. I will kepp the post updated as to if i get them

Keep in mind that stock buckets for these trucks mounted to a wide frame. The bench seats just have tracks so you'd have to fabricate something anyway.

By wide frame do you mean it spanded from the passenger side to the driver's side? Do you have any pictures of the frame set up?

BEst I could find from when I did mine. I used A100 seats at first but they killed me so I swapped out for Lil Red style. You may be able to use your bench tracks and then use tubing or something to distribute the weight.

Those JEEP seats look like the Adventurer bucket seats. Here are a couple pics of the seats and frame. ONLY the driver seat is adjustable (forward and backward). The passenger seat is mounted directly to the seat frame.

Thank you Jim. I think they will fit. Now I just need to convince people that that is what I need for my next gift. I will figure out my own center portion. I' thinking something more like a storage bin like you find in a newer full size SUV.

You may be able to find a center section like we have separately. I got lucky and found 1.

You may find something in a newer vehicle too.... my 2003 Chevy Suburban has a really nice center console arm rest that is "similar" to the one in my Sweptline.
