Anyone using CIPA 45500, OE Style Lowmount Mirrors?

Post by Warren »

I have aftermarket elephant ears on my 68 D100 and looking to reduce the blind spot significantly.

http://www.amazon.com/CIPA-45500-Style- ... WM9CW5Q46Q

Anyone try or have these?

Thanks!

Ugh, I hate drilling new holes. What about just replacing your round heads with rectangular ones?

I have been trying to get a passenger side OEM spot mirror for two years - No luck.

I have one on the driver's side.

Originally had the elephant ears off when I bought it but then had no visibility on the passenger side so put them back on. Hate that blind spot - Especially with my young daughter driving it once in awhile.

Thinking of sucking it up and drilling more holes... :pale

You might consider looking for a nice pair of original West Coast Jr.
mirrors. :idea :2cents There's enough room to stick a small convex
blind spot mirror on them if need be.

Well it took two years but I grabbed these last night.

Whew... :dance

Do the 5x7's do okay or are there vibe problems? I can get those or the regular 5" rounds...

Ah they are looking like new after a few hours of elbow grease and the first coat of primer. :)

Run larger square heads on the arms with small spot mirrors. I ran ones like that on my 66 long before I last restored it.
:thinking Think I still have them somewhere too. :thinking
