Early 60's Door latches

Post by BillyBones »

I haven't had any luck in finding someone that has done this but I want to swap out my 62 4rd to something that works! has anyone swapped latches from any other years or customized something to work? Thanks

Talk to Slick, he made them work in a 40s or 50s model.
If I didn't build it, it ain't mine.

Ben had to do the reverse of what you're describing. He changed from the newer
push button latches/striker plates to the earlier refrigerator style set up. I believe
he already had the earlier doors. The striker plate portion of the cab post had
to be cut out and replaced with the one from an earlier donor cab. :2cents

At one point in time, I thought that Vintage Power Wagons in Fairfield, Iowa, had
some refrigerator door latches/plates available? :thinking They might be long
gone by now....

Steven also changed the striker area of his cab.
