tin experience

Post by marklein »

Has anyone here used tin from C2C fabrication. Looking at getting floor pans and 1 rocker. Their product ok?

I would venture to say that they are the same as the other cheap ones where they do not have the dimple for the cab mount.

If you want a great product I would go with Exiline (Kennydrives) on eBay.

Been looking for rockers and steps for my 71. Found a set at **NOT ALLOWED**. Cost of 50.00 each for a total of 196.00 shipped to my door in Kelowna British Columbia Canada. Looks like a good deal. Any one used these parts? How was the fit? Thanx Mark

He was one of the founding members of this site. I've never used any of his products so I can't comment the quality. I also believe he gets them from another source.

I believe all of these outer rockers/steps from the various vendors are a
"good" [not excellent] fit but do require a bit of additional forming/bending
to produce a good finished product. This observation comes from reading
fellow member's comments over the years. :2cents I do believe these parts
are a thinner than original gauge steel too.

I used both C2C floors and four rockers / steps on my crew. The floors are definatly not correct for a resto and some of the bends on the top are not really done. There is a crease line where they should be though that helped. The edge that goes next to the tunnel has a ~ 1/2 lip folded up vertically and the step side has it folded down. I did get the floors in to where I am not embarrased to show people but it took some doing. The steps were fine but I spent a long time trying to use bondo to form the end of the bumps on the steps they are just rolled all the way out and not closed.

I am building a nice daily driver not a correct resto so they worked for me. I also had to put my son in private school so cost is a large factor and these are the cheapest I could find.

Thank you for all of the replies. So who sell the best rocker and step and other replacement panels. I am collecting parts I need so I can rebuild the truck this winter. Thanx

I am not doing a full on resto either. Just going to be a nice daily driver. Last time I made my own floor pans, time consuming to say the least. If I have something to start with other than a flat piece of tin, it gets me a lot closer. I am not opposed to modifying to fit, I expect that to an extent, especially at the 50 dollar price point. Thanks for the insight.

If that's the case, then go :2cents for the rockauto floor pans.
