I'm interested in these trim pieces but I wonder how they are attached? I can't say I would want to drill into my repraired/replaced rrockers to attach them. Maybe that body panel adhesive stuff??

The carpet trim from exline (Kenny) comes unpolished . It also has no attaching holes and will have to be drilled like the factory ones . I don't think I would worry about the small holes necessary to attach as the holes are in the overlapped metal area of the step. guess you could try a double tape. :thinking .BTW, the unpolished ,which I purchased need some sanding( in the bends) and polishing if you want them to be flawless and shinny. Kenny pointed this out before I purchased. Extra $35 for him to polish.

Kenny also mentioned to me that he also welds and grinds a little more on the polished version to clean up the bends so he does put more work in for that price. :Thumbsup

I hope to grab a set myself.

I'm waiting on a reply from Kenny on a polished set. He did indicate that their was more labor involved in the polished sets.

I like the way Kenny made the trim curve all the way to the front door post. It is probably worth the extra $$ to have him grind and polish them. I've been working on mine since I've had the time waiting on my truck painting to be finished :pale and taking it a bit easy while the knee mends. :Thumbsup

the only part of them that I dont really like is where you can see the "ripples" in the bend there. Can someone snap a close up of that so I can see how bad it "really" is

From what I understand, the ripples are what is removed during the "polish" option

I'll post up some pictures once I finish grinding ,sanding and polishing. Really not that bad.

I just ordered carpet for my 69 from https://stockinteriors.com

They were having a sale. Mine comes in tomorrow. I put in new floors over turkey day and laid boom mat down last weekend. Carpet will be this weekend.

Interested in which 'version' you ordered and how it turns out.

Would Stumbling horse's carpet work in my D-400, or is the tranny hump a different height?

Carpet from a 100/200 series will not work in 300 series and larger due to floor hump height being different.

So all installed. I ordered the lowest cost option in ebony color. Quality of carpet is good. Fit is good. They tried to have the correct shape. Came close. They put a small cutout for a standard truck. I would say it is not in the right location for the shifter. Trim to fit on all sides, Trimming the top has additional batting for shaping which was challenging to make it fit correctly.

But all in all I would say the carpet is good and like all things for these trucks it will take some patience and skill to get right. My install is about an 8 out of 10, it looks good but I would have liked to do a better job with the trimming of the shifter location and around the steering area etc. My interior is now finished, seat, headliner, boom mat and carpet. Happy with the result, not a show truck, but very nice and in my budget!

Gave up on buying OG 64 Polara trim for $40 and see if I can form it into place. I just couldn’t bring myself to spend $$$ on a set - but then did anyways. I understand the economics, but couldn't even find cheap alternatives... so went with the OG.
