Window cranks

Just bought a window crank for my 64 and turned out
to be shorter than the other one.
My mistake, he advertised it as a 66, but I wasn't
aware of differences. Looked like same style to me. :study
So when did factory change ? And why ?

When you say crank, do you mean the handle? I'm only aware of 2 styles 61-67 and 68-71.

I have seen two different lengths regarding inside window crank handles on 61-66 trucks.

I found the short handle cranks in crew cabs. They had short handles in the back seats. No idea if that is factory, BUT I'm going to assume yes. The 65 crew cab was a one owner truck with very low mileage. Parked in a field after only 9 years of drive time. I doubt those cranks were changed out in that time period.

I'm guessing they had the shorter handles in the back due to the room back there when cranking the window down?

Image below. The handle at the top is the '68-'71 style.

The lower right is the short one I received.
Crew cab back door use makes sense.

I wonder if A100s used these as well. They may have had a different size.

After reading this post, checked my '61...driver is long ,passenger is short??? Surely that's not correct...I know, don't call you Surely. Chris.

That is funny, now that I have the two sizes,
I think I'll just leave them that way as a conversation item.
Wonder how many other trucks are like that. :thinking

I know this is an old post but, I ran across this today. I have a mix matched set of cranks and was wondering the same thing. I bought a set of cranks for an A-100 and they are short. I guess it really doesn't matter as long as they work.

Simple answer - check the parts book.
