Re: Buckets
Just put these in a couple of weeks ago.
They came out of a 2004 Ram. Both are manual, leather with heat.
I ended up removing the seat tracks entirely from the seats and bolting the rear directly to the floor. The front mounts are bolted to a bracket which sits about 1 3/4" up from the floor.
No adjustment front to rear, but I am pretty sure I am all done growing so not an issue.

Re: Buckets
someone else with a crew used the seats from an F150. they fit great and had the integrated shoulder harness as part of the seat back.
do a search and you will find it....
the F150 seat back is much thicker and therefore wouldnt be a good fit if you are of normal (middle aged) size.....

Looks comfy but the ram symbol is kinda out of place.

Re: Buckets
I don't know what the original seat in this truck looked like. but mine looks like a dirty white and dark green table cloth. I think that new seats with a Ram would be a huge improvement.
I have two Fords an 87 and a 70. I was going to replace the seat on the 70 with three Bronco II/Ranger buckets. I was going to remove the tracks from the buckets and mount them to the bench seat's track. I have seen this done on other trucks and also done with a box or console in the center. usually it takes some bar stock and just a few holes drilled. Most seats sit relatively flat on the tracks.
If not using the original tracks. new holes for new seats should be reinforced. I have seen seats rip out in accidents and cause cracks in the floors under normal driving.
Fullsize Broncos and Blazers often have nice sized consoles for the center. If you go home made, conversion vans often have nice tables and/or cup holders to help make the console look less home made.

Re: Buckets
There was a guy selling his truck that had a pic showing some buckets out of an intrepid that looked good.

The seats in mine have been the best $$ I have spent on either of my 40 year old vehicles by far, Ram embroidery or not.

Re: Buckets
Hey, don't forget that the Ram was used before our trucks came out. So, its not neccessarily too modern, maybe its a tribute.

Re: Buckets
using the seat tracks from a standard bench for buckets isnt possible.
There is only one track per side and the frame of the seat bottom is what they bolt to. You could build a frame like what was used in original bucket seat trucks though and then use the single track on each side. You would end up with both buckets and the console (buddy seat) moving together like the bench though.

Re: Buckets
Tim,
Not impossible. As the rest of your post states, it all moves together like the original bench. Usually one piece of metal across the front and another across the back is enough, but different seat combos may require more mods.
