Clay Bar vs. Color Sanding

Post by Daddiojoe »

Anybody know is these processes are comparable when working with a new paint job?

Thanks,

The clay bar is for removing dirt, dust, and other particles that lay on TOP of your paint. It isn't for color sanding. Here is a link to Meguiars Clay Bar that I use.

A clay bar is totally different. As mentioned, it is used for cleaning junk out of the paint.
It would be good to use a clay bar before sanding, if the paint wasn't fresh.
