Paint Color for 61 Slant Six?

I have a 1961 Sweptline W100 Power Wagon with a slant six and wanted to ask what color the engine was originally? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! Dennis (NJ)

Was the original colour of your 1961 Slant Six the Chrysler Red ( or now called Chrysler Industrial Red ) as sold in the spray cans at the local auto parts store in the engine/hi-temp section of the paint shelf ???

A 1962 /6 in a truck would have been a light yellow or creme color originally so I would think that's the color of a 61 also.

A 1962 /6 in a truck would have been a light yellow or creme color originally so I would think that's the color of a 61 also.

I don't know what year they were for sure other than 4 headlights (not 61) that my uncle and cousin both bought new and those were both quite yellow.

The '68 D100 I had appeared more orange than red. Certainly not the red my 383 was. I have a picture of it somewhere. I would have to look at it and the Chrysler colors to see which it was.

Hi Everybody, I believe Russ is probally correct as the original engine color being light yellow or creme. I had just power washed my engine and there's not much paint left on the block but it appears light yellow. My valve cover is like a red/orange but there also is what appears yellow underneath. Anyway thanks everyone for your replies. Sometime soon I will post some photo's of my truck (61 W100 Power Wagon, sweptline)

I just pulled the hood off a 62 today at Forrest auto parts. Now there is a yellow-creme colored /6 exposed to the eliments.

I liked the listing of colours. I do see it complety missed the engine's of the 1962 and 1963 Chrysler NY'rs, the Imperial Division and to all here, The Dodge Truck Division.

The engine colour of the 1962 NY'r was an flat black. The engine colour of the 1962 Imperial Division was also flat black. From 1963 both divisions had the Turquoise Colour.

The 1967 Pick-up Trk 383 was the Chrysler Red. What year did the Trk 383 change to Turquoise ?

My 70 Adventurer 383 is absolutely Turquoise originally...but I think my 71 D100 318 might be Blue originally...
