Post by Outlaw »

just curious, did Dodge make a bench seat where the center can fold down (i forgot the name of the style seat) that'll fit with the stock location of the 68 Camper Special?

Ho Ho Ho Florida Person

In the time of the 1961 to 1971 Dodge Trucks it started with the CSS Trucks. They had low back buckets that came from the Car Division's. At first the center section was an console from also the car division's.

As the years went on the good looking center console went away and was replaced by an fold down center arm over the covered center console box. If you lowered the center arm, you could place your lower arm on it as you drove. Raise the center arm to open the covered ( storage ) box or to have an person sit on it as an seat. They still used the low back bucket seat ( same frame but differant pattern on the face ). The frame to cab attachment design changed in 1971, but the low back bucket seat part stayed through 1979.

To anwser your question ... no brench seats with folding arm rest in the 1961 to 1971 era for your truck. Car Divisions; yes, Truck Division; No . You can "retro fit" a newer style seat to your frame.
