'67 pie to a '64 4 headlight or '69

Post by HellBelly »

Ok my '70 has a '67 Pie Plate front clip on it. I'm not really liking it, i have two choices.

1) Change over to a 4 Headlight system (My Favorite)
2) Change over to a '69 front clip (Second Favorite).

I believe the change over to the '69 setup will be easier. I'm assuming i don't need to change the core support right? That is not the case for the 4 headlight setup right?

Just confirming before i start tearing it apart.

Sounds pretty much like you got it. As far as I have been able to tell there are just the 2 different core supports. I have a '68 core support on mine with '70-'71 grille. Only had to drill a couple new holes to fill all the screw holes in the later grille work. There are some issues with the hood latch but I don't remember what that was. Wasn't anything insurmountable but there were some differences. Changing to the '69 would be easier and you can use your current support. I intend to make mine a 4 light front eventually. My fave also even though mine was originally a pie plate.

Modifying the core support isn't that big of a deal for the 4-eye. I just used some brackets to mount the radiator, and everything else went fairly smoothly.

Best of luck,

Okay! I'll catch it for this one but I prefer the 69 to both the 4 eye and the pie plate! LOL Mike
