a friend of mine built a billet grille for his Pro-Touring '73 Torino. he purchased the billet strips, made a jig to hold them while he was building it. tigged it together. caressed it til it fit, polished it. then had it powder coated clear. i've got pics of it somewhere. if i can find them. i'll post them.

i made an insert for my 64 out of some smaller mesh expanded steel. just made a template out of cardbord and cut it to fit inside the backside of the grille. drilled a couple of holes in the back of the grille fins(so you cant see them from the front) and used wire ties to mount it behind the stock grille, it changed the whole look of the front of the truck. the best thing was, it only cost me 3 bucks to do it and took mabey half an hour!

I once put a billet grill on my 90 Ch@vy van, after putting 1 ton running gear under it, and pulling off all the insignia.

My goal try to make it match the look of the Town Wagon...and I got pretty close, both were painted with the same shade of Sherwin-Williams Industrial Enamal "Safety Blue" and the billet grill had similar horizontal lines to the Town Wagon grill.

However, to find one for a sweptline will be awfully hard since it is a full width grill and not the center section type.
