Are there many of the full size west coast mirror brackets around? To fit a D300.

I have a set out in the Garage somewhere.... :thinking chrome, surface rust, one is bent where the post meets the mount. :banghead I don't remember which side....
I'll go wade through the junk if you are still interested.

The mounting screws;
I just went to Lowe's hardware store, 5/16-18 x 1 SS Machine Screws, Oval Head Phillips. Qty 5 per package @ $2! :dance
Exactly the same thing! Buff for chrome, powder paint if wanted White.
I hope this has helped,

I have used a hand impact driver on a few occasions. Those screws can be a bear to remove.

I have a very old Craftsman that is the best one I have ever seen. It accepts a half inch drive socket or it has a chuck for screwdriver bits. It came with five bits that must be about the hardest bits made. Ive had it for over thirty years and the bits still look like new.

Russ, you said it was an old craftsman? I'll start looking for one of those, send me over a pic via e-mail if you have time.

I had a cheap Chinese made one is guess. Stuck that baby in a bed tailgate bracket screw and shattered the end with one hit... LOL Yesterday at lunch i found a different brand at a pawn shop and bought it. I sold this tailgate already but can't get the blasted screws out.. lol If this one brakes.. Sawzall here i come! I'll cut the whole bed end off at the bottom, its rotted out anyway.

Here's a couple of pics of it. The Sears p/n is 947634 but you probably won't find one like it there now. It was made in USA. You might find good bits like these at SnapOn or some other tool place but expect to pay a lot for them.

That stubby looking bit is not broken, it's a number 4 phillips and is blunt on the end. It fits the tailgate pivot screws perfectly.
