Door Locks

Post by soopernaut »

I know this was covered before but I couldn't find it. Can the door locks from a 77 D150 be swapped into a 70 D100. The locks match the ignition so if they will work all my locks can be the same. Do they just have a clip holding them in place? I wonder if the mechanism inside the door is the same in both trucks. :thinking

No there is a difference. I tried it once an a truck I owned with no success. You have to drill a whole larger than what comes on the truck then figure out a way to hold it down. Jim

If you take your door lock to a lock smith they can rekey your old lock that fits. My lock smith charges $25 for this service. I just had a junkyard lock rekeyed to work with the ignition in a 71 sweptline.
