Door Lock question

i have read some posts will try that dont think thats my problem i thinks the cylinders are bad due to when i put the key in and go to lock and unlock i got nothin when i pull the lock up and down it works so im stuck with my doors unlocked so should i buy new lock cylinders

Double check inside that the arm on the back of the lock is or isn't moving.
If it isn't moving with the key, then you have a lock issue. More than likely
though, the arm is moving but the rod is sliding in the arm. In this case,
make sure the rod has a nice offset "Z" like bend where it connects to the
arm and coat the Z with a piece of shrink wrap tube.

They came from the factory with a plastic coating on the rod end, and over time
it wears off. My 71 had this problem and I spent a handsome amount on locks,
to find out it was the rod slipping. :banghead
