Painting My Dash

66 D100: Anybody got advice on removing the knobs, especially the vent cables. Bob

Vent cables should have a stamped nut the shaft behind the dash. Unscrew this and slide the cable
out from the front [disconnect the other end.... naturally] The wiper and blower knobs should be
held on the shafts by a small set screw. The light switch knob AND shaft pull out of the switch
body by pressing a small release knob on the switch body.... the screw collar then can be backed
off and the switch can be pushed back through the dash and out of the way. There's more I'm
probably not remembering at the moment..... :thinking
