real quick lowering question

Post by 383mrollg »

hey guys thinking about lowering the front while its parked for a few months to see if i like it.

question is can i leave the shock mounts in the same place ( above the axle but under the leafs ) and just swap the leafs under the axle with longer u bolts?

also will this reduce strength for the shock mounts because there wouldnt be springs resting on it.

You have to have the pin locate the axle on the springs...not just the Ubolts clamping them on. I don't think the flip will affect shock mounting point strength, but the shock might bottom out=break something if the axle goes up on top of the springs and the shock goes with it.

Note center bolt.

I remember seeing the lowering job on that wild blue and red truck with the bling wheels and thinking YIKES!

Chris, let me find the brackets that I made for the front. I will send them to you to see if you can lower that beast. Like I said before they are not the greatest thing, but will let you see if you like it lowered. Cantspels set up is pretty sweet I would try to replicate that..
