tailgate differences

Ok, I searched about tailgates and found that the earlier year is more narrow than the later years. My question is, the bottom of mine is rusting out(later year), I found a tailgate from a early model truck, will the bottom be the same? I know it looks the same to me, and this tailgate looks to be in really good shape. So can I take the bottom off of the older tailgate and use it as patch for mine?

61-65.5 are the narrow ones 66-70 are the wider ones with the raised lettering and 71 are the same width as the 66-70 but the letters are not raised just dodge painted on witha dodge emblem in the top right i believe
