Seat Belt Retractors

Post by cbody70 »

I currently have the original green seat belts in my 69 D200 CS. They don't have retractors which can be a bit of a nusiance getting in and out of the truck. My 70 Polara still has the orignal retractors and they still work like a charm. Does anyone know if retractors were available for 69 trucks or if retractors from later trucks interchange? My guess is that they do but the next challenge will be finding a set thats the right colour.

Both my '71 trucks have retractors. The '67 parts truck did not.

I'm not sure when they started but retractors were available in 69. They must have been optional if you 69 didn't have them. Here's a pic of what they look like although this isn't a factory color.

Thanks Russ. Looks like a vertical mount at the back where the standard seat belts attach? That would limit the interchangability.
