fender- 1967 -D-200

Post by Johns67 »

On my left side of the truck there is at least a 1/2 inch or better gap between the front fender and the door. The fender seems to be tight and the door just about closes right. When I had the truck painted the gap was painted matellic maroon also. Is it the door that needs to go forward or the fender that needs to go back? Anyone ever have this happen to them?
Thanks!~johns67

What is the gap at the striker end of the door
and does the rest of the door fit 'fairly" even?

Since the fenders bolt too the fire wall, under
the hood, it's not going to move much to the rear....
but might be able to get a little.

I would say that, unless the door closes perfect,
that is were the adjustment needs to be...

I'm going to take out the interior of the cab of my 67-D-200 this summer and paint the inside, then I'll work on trying to line up the doors. Need to get the weather stripping for both doors. The doors close if you slam them, but I know that's not right. When I get ready to do the doors I'm going to visit more. I was told the pins in the hinges will probably need to be replaced. Maybe the gap between the door and the fender on the hinge side will disappear.
Thanks!~johns67- glad it's not the fender.
