Cab Top Paint

Post by DocsTruck »

Does anyone know what kind of paint was used on the top of the cab? My truck has a white top and it has a texture similar to vinyl.

The paint on the roof is a normal paint. This was sprayed over top a coating. This was called a Vinyl top by Dodge. My 68 has the "Vinyl top" I also had a dent in the roof that after I repaired it, of course, it left a "bald" spot. So, before I repainted the roof, I used a "GRAVEL GAURD" designed for the stone chip gaurd for rocker panels. It is designed to be painted over. This gives the roof the similar look and no none can tell that my roof was repaired.. The brand I used I don't recall the name.

Thanks Jim, I always wondered about the textured top. Mine has just a couple of small light surface rust spots that I think can be touched up with some regular ol' white paint.
