I.D help

Post by mikeys_toy »

Just picked up an early sweptline in exchange for my tired '86 Jeep cherokee.
It has white guages with the round bezel; NOT like the A100s
The poly 318 was factory blue and has a stromberg carb w/manual choke.
What year truck is this?
A few years back, I had a '62 Utiline with the white faced guages, but it was a 225 w/ the pushbutton 727.
I'm guessing '62-'63

White gauges = 62

The only year with white gauges. Post a picture, we'd like to see your ride!

no pics yet; but the wife and I fired it off. It runs pretty damn well for sitting 12 years. Idles good, develops a miss at higher rpms, probably due to the fact that I'm hotwiring it and the point are probably fried.
Someone did all the bodywork, put it in primer, and junked it......I dunno why.
The cab floor is non-existant, the cowl is shot, but I SHOULD be able to find a decent cab SOMEWHERE.
Once it's back on the road I will be selling my '94 B3000 as it just not me......
I DID find an image from last year, long before I was interested in it....I can't load it though.....

they're not individual guages, more like the A100s, but they are white, round with the bottom half cut off.

After 64 the pickups share the same gauge set
with the A100 vans.
Like keith said, likely a 62, but the whites
could be ordered till 64.

1=D 2 wheel drive
2=200 3/4 ton
8= v8 engine
1= warren plant built
200627
makes it a 1962 truck
160000 starts 62, 230000 starts 63,
There was some over lap of numbers
from 1961 to 1962 making early and late
62 trucks, yours would have been a late
truck.

If your truck has the full width bed
does it still have the chains? if
the brackets are still there are
they flat steal or bolt eyes?

The flat steel is a late change in 62, early 62's
had the bolt eyes like the 61 did.
The flat steel was used till the new bed in mid 65.

Just kind of wondered were your truck fell
in the range..... my 62 had the bolt eyes..
