door locks?

Post by CLIFF »

I need to get a working set for a 67 d100. Was wondering what all years will swap 61-67? 68-71? Are there differences? There are some on ebay and there listed for 61-65?

from what i understand, there are only 2 types, the ones for the fridge handles and the ones for the push buttons. so you would have 61-66, and 67-71. im sure someone will chime in if i am wrong.

Trey, I thought it was '61-'65 1/2 and '65 1/2-'71?

nope, the 66 has fridge handles, the 67 has pushbuttons but the inside of the cab is exactly the same as the 61-66. (its the crossover year)

Just a warning while you shop for those on the bay, there's a seller called ThomasJSestak auto parts that sells locks under years for which they don't work. I bought some and discovered this a couple of years ago.

I bought a set off ebay awhile back worked just fine.
BUT before that I spoke to a locksmith who told me if I'd bring the locks and keys to hime (my old locks) that he would fix them and get them working again. I did check Napa who had locks listed for my 71 but them were the wrong size/type would not work.

ok so since I have a 67 I need to get the 67-71 ? I was thinking I read somewhere that 68-71 were a larger diameter lock and the 61-67 were the same. Im glad I didnt bid on the ebay ones then. They were listed as 61-65 and went for $60 bucks!
