What are these threadserts for?

Post by 71Lumberwagon »

This is on a '71 model year under the front valance and behind the bumper. I am curious what these thread inserts would be responsible for holding. there are two of them. I tried doing a search on here and came up dry so far. I will try to upload a picture on this post. Thank you!

Since the core support was used on the D/W300 that is were a filler panel attach below the radiator. fenders are taller on the 300/400

Actually, the core support is the same on all sizes, up to 800's. All larger than 200 use that same filler.

I knew about that filler panel and different fenders on the larger trucks I guess I just never put the thought together on how the filler mounted. Thanks guys!
