Vent window pivot
I finally got the Philips screw head on the vent window pivot to turn after a lot of convincing. Now it's just spinning in place. Is there something acting as a nut on the other side of the vent window frame? Or is that all part of the pivot screw on the other side?
I did the other side a few months ago and can't remember

Re: Vent window pivot
Are you talking about the screw that holds the vent window frame to the door? The one in the attached picture? If so, there is a spring steel U nut on the door that it screws into.

No, I'm taking about the pivot on top. I still haven't got back to it, yet I just sprayed a ton of penetrating oil on it and left it.

Re: Vent window pivot
Sounds like that TOP screw is stripped out. It DOES have threads. See the photo below.

Re: Vent window pivot
So the pin at the top is suppose to stay in framing or glass and screw comes out? Mine screw was spinning pin also, so I took screw out at bottom and came right apart. I would to fix top now while I have apart if so.

No, the pin is part of the screw and it comes OUT. The only "PIN" is at the bottom of the vent glass frame where is swivels.pismopowerwagon wrote: ↑Fri Nov 08, 2019 9:45 amSo the pin at the top is suppose to stay in framing or glass and screw comes out? "Photo not stolen " In your pic at the top of framing I zoomed in and now I see that the part I was calling a pin is part of that phillips screw. It almost looks in pic like there is a nutsert that it threads into and maybe that is the loose part we are both having issues with?
Thanks for explaining

OK, Yeah, I know what you mean. The "SCREW" is threaded at the TOP, and the bottom of the "screw" is a pin and the whole thing should come out when you unscrew it. I can't remember what the frame with the female threads looks like. I'll have to see if I have a frame I can get a picture of without the screw/pin inserted.pismopowerwagon wrote: ↑Fri Nov 08, 2019 1:31 pm"Photo not stolen " In your pic at the top of framing I zoomed in and now I see that the part I was calling a pin is part of that phillips screw. Re: Vent window pivot
Found an extra vent frame. Sorry, I thought the screw would've still been there, but it's not. Oh well.....
