front core support all thread......question

Post by juddoats »

on my truck there is what seemed to have been fine thread on one end and course on the other end all thread of some sort that goes from core support to frame...there is a nut welded to the top side of the core support....is this stock or did someone do this after? with lowering mine so much i had to take out and put a longer piece in but i bought course threaded all thread since that was what was on the bottom so now i will have to take back and get fine and swap nuts on the bottom side of the frame....anyone know if this is stock?
thanks
Judd

That's how mine was. I don't see why you couldn't just use a bolt up from the bottom that is the correct thread pitch for the welded nut.

You can buy those over the counter @ NAPA.
Fine on one end coarse on the other.

You'll probably be looking for an exhaust manifold stud- I would envision a silence on the other end of the phone if you asked for a body mounting stud for a sweptline. Thread pitch on the welded nut is 7/16-20 UNF, other end is 7/16-14 UNC
