That's a lot of weight up that high, especially over a roof. Did you winch it down?
Did you get a ride in a bucket or did you climb it?

I rented an 80' articulating lift.

No winch.

Gotta start clearing low, so nothing higher up hangs up on the plummet down.

Rig the proper sling, slice, let the cut swing using the trunk as an anchor point.

Then drop down & cut it into smaller pieces as it hangs.

Clear the sling, recycle the gear, then back up to keep going.

Gotta understand basic physics of mass, size, materials in motion, swing rates & then gravity is just a HUGE help.

That all said... DO NOT try this at home. LOL

That limb was this one marked with the red X after all the limbs below were dropped.

After that the was crown topped, then firewood size chunks on the bared trunk down to the ground.

I've been climbing and topping for thirty years. I keep an MS200T, 044, an and an MS880 with a five foot bar. The winch I was talking about was a GRCS. We combine that as a tensioner with a zip line or to lower the whole top in one shot to get the limbs down to the chipper without dragging. The GRCS also virtually eliminates the need for a timber jack.
