New member 1971 d100 318 LA to 440
Hi all, joined the group to gather information for my build. Acquired the project from my father in law as a gift. Was used at an air base in Florida in its beginning years, then migrated to Michigan after a few years of use and many years of storing. Always ran every now and then. Day one pictures look like I pulled it out of a grave yard. Would like to do some minor body work and focus most of my money on the motor, transmission, and brakes. 318 LA was just recently pulled and acquired a 440 out of an old interceptor with a 727 to go with it. Excited to get get this going. 318 ran OK but lots of small leaks and could tell I could run the old gas out of it no matter how much rec fuel I diluted it with and valve seals, head gaskets, it all made me decided to do a full tear down. In conversations with co-workers the 440 came at a good deal. Will keep a patina look until I build up the funds to tear it down a little more and do a panel or two a week. Pictures to follow once I get on the computer. Keeps saying files are to big to attach. Hope to meet some good people and learn a thing or two!

Any updates on your project? I’ve been using this damn quarantine time to work on my 66.

That's a good looking truck. Good swap project.
