Re: 68 utiline
It’s holding up great. I just covered up the area behind the glovebox that I had cut out to get to the inside of the cowl area. No bubbling up or any signs of rust(I’m sure it still could come through but so far so good). Truck sits out in the weather at all times so it’s been 3 years now. I think as long as you put on the por15 paint first( making sure to use the degreaser and etching spray) it will work. I thought the putty was a little bit hard to work with. I’ve been using the Por “por patch” a lot also. If the holes aren’t too big I would of used it instead (it’s kind of a tooth paste like consistency). It’s a lot of work and messy so good luck. Not a lot of other options that I have the skills to do.

Thanx Hammer.
Sounds like you did a great job on yours. I am hoping for the same outcome.
My truck is out getting new floors in it right now. Going to attack the cowls when it gets back.
I'm kinda doing it backwards but the truck sits inside from the weather so new floors will be ok till I get the cowls fixed.
Thanx again.

Got new rims and tires. Rims are US Wheel series 68 that I painted white. Rears are 15x8 with 275-60-15 and up front are 15x7 with 235-70-15. All 4 have 3 3/4” back spacing.

Re: 68 utiline
Bought the tank from CJ Pony parts online. It’s the 22 gallon tank for Mustangs.

Re: 68 utiline
I used 1” angle iron for the support brackets then added some spacers to lower it a bit.

Re: 68 utiline
I’ll take it out and paint it, plus I still need to make a fuel line. The bed needs a new floor so for now I’ll just cut a hole in the floor for the fuel filler. Not sure when I’ll finish it up, maybe next spring, hopefully sooner.

Nice! I plan to use the same tank in the same place. Are you going to use the Ford fuel sender?

Too many rear end crashes around here for a tank that exposed. Twice for me in both 70 W200 and 62 W300.

Re: 68 utiline
I don’t plan on driving like this. Need to get the bed on it, then a bumper, maybe even a hitch to protect it. Truck was originally a uteline but I’m putting on a fleet side. Need to figure out what to do about the frame since a couple inches have been cut off and the back brace of the new bed won’t hit anything.PwrWgnDrvr wrote: ↑Wed Oct 16, 2019 9:47 amToo many rear end crashes around here for a tank that exposed. Re: 68 utiline
That's an easy fix, just weld a couple inches back on and grind the bead smooth. Think its about 2 1/4" or 2 1/2" to be correct. Did that a yr ago - cut them off a parts truck frame I had.

Re: 68 utiline
When I put that same tank in that spot, I'll just reinstall my back bumper that you could make a corolla out of, no issues there.
