Thanks for the replies guys. Been looking around and found a local shop that specializes in restoration of suspension systems of classic vehicles. Their website list of services includes re-arching springs. :Thumbsup

Nice truck!!! I've been running on radials for years and haven't had any issues, in fact, on a smooth road the truck rides pretty darn good. :Thumbsup

So, I bought this truck almost three weeks ago and I am having a heck of a time finding a transporter to deliver the darned thing. Anyone on here have any suggestions or experience with a vehicle shipper?

Talk with Gary Patrowicz. Tell him you're moving
a Sweptline and you got his contact information
from this website and he'll give you a bit of a
discount. I know he's helped a few people out
here. :idea :2cents I've talked with him on the
phone about moving a truck or two that I was interested
in. He also helped out on some hard to find wheel well
trim for my Coronet R/T..... :clap

Well Fellas, she's finally on a transport truck. Should be in my garage next week. Big shout-out and thanks to John (Hobcobble) for the referral to the shipper. Great guys and got on this quick. Can't wait to take her for a spin.

Power Wagon finally arrived today!

Good News: The transport driver didn't drop her off the truck (but it was touch and go for a couple minutes.) He got it a bit sideways backing it off and had to stop twice to adjust the ramps. My wife got to laughing at me because at one point I couldn't watch. She is a big 'ol bad @#% and is solid. Some surface rust in a couple of spots but nothing bad. Engine fires right up and runs strong. I barked the tires 2nd to 3rd getting out in traffic driving her home. Interior is in very good shape and all rubber seals around doors is new.

Bad News: More work to be done than I originally thought. Brakes are mushy and I scared the crap out of myself when a lady pulled out in front of me. Tie rod ends are shot. Rear springs look ok, but the fronts are flat.Back up lights don't work and tires are shot (knew this already). Dash gauges don't work. Going to be more of a project than I thought. I spoke to a buddy who is a mechanic and he says that she won't pass Maryland inspection with the brakes and gauges issues. Likely going to be sometime summer or fall before I can get her road worthy. I am not a mechanic, so this is going to be a challenge for my skills for sure. I will probably be looking for some advice and help from you guys as this project progresses.

So, for you guys who have done a project like this, I have a first question: My first thought is to make a list of everything I know is wrong, source the parts and just go at it in a systematic way. I'm thinking I have to start with the suspension issues. Sound reasonable?

I know, I know, Pictures...Sorry, but by the time I got it home it was almost dark. Pics in the next couple days.
