resurected 66D200

Post by oldfrogdiving »

Ok folks, here are some pictures of my most recent elderly iron, I got it about 40 miles north of me, had to cut it out of the bush, drug it home. So far I have cleaned and rebuilt carb, cleaned ignition, rebuilt brake M/C, rewired back light, headlights, front turn indicators, hazards, replaced u joints, center bearing. Took it for its first shakedown cruise today and it ran pretty good man that tranny NP435 sure makes a lot of noise but it shifts pretty well, cleaned up a minor leak on my fuel pump, replaced stock fuel tank (no internals or brackets) with a temp mil diesel tank sitting in the home made hacked flatbed. I have the original uti bed but it needs a good deal of work before it can be attached. This is the 4th old dodge truck I have owned, in the 80s I worked on Ascension island and got an old W200 crewcab running out of the junk yard, in the 90s I had a 68 WM300 I used it as a work rig for inland diving here in florida and pulling up sunk airboats, I also owned a 73 D200 camper special which I got back in Nov 15 on a trade for an old ATV, the PO was going to scrap it but I convinced them to trade for the ATV, I sold that one in Jan for a good deal more then I had in it. Thanks for the advice and excellent technical support that you can read in the forum.
