1969 W100
1969 W100
This is my Power Wagon I have had since I bought it as a factory demonstrator in 1969. It was tested by Camper Coachmen magazine by the editor Bill Estes who later became editor of Trailer Life Magazine. It has every available option that Dodge offered that year, including close ration 4 speed, 383ci, heavy duty instrument cluster which included a factory installed Sun Tach. It has the Mopar M1 manifold with Carter AFB and all sorts of goodies. Runs better now than when I first got it and also gets much better gas mileage which still isn't very good. Also a picture with her big brother. I continue to use this truck in my business as a yard maintenance truck (thus the detachable racks). The only thing this truck has ever lacked was brakes. When I first got it, you couldn't stop it no matter how hard you tried. I almost pulled the steering wheel off one time in a panic stop and finally had to swerve to avoid someone pulling out in front of me. So I added a vacuum boost, that really helped that flaw. I will continue to add photos as I find them and scan them.

Thank you all very much. I couldn't believe it when I discovered this site. Didn't think there were that many old Dodge Trucks still around. I just turned 69 and have had this truck soon after I got married. My wife and I have been all over the country with this old girl, from the sand dunes at Glamis Ca. (with implement tires) to the Continental Divide in Colorado. So many memories so many pictures. I also still have the issue of the magazine it was tested in.

Re: 1969 W100
Anyone know what kind of rear bumper that is? Or where you can find one?

Re: 1969 W100
As for the rear bumper they were aftermarket for years. I found one that looks exactly like the one in the picture on an 80s Ford in a junkyard, it was within a 1/4 of an inch (1/8 per side) of being the perfect width for the brackets to fit. So basically a couple of washers and drill some new holes in my frame and it will bolt on. Of course I'll have to torch the bolts to get the old one off first.
