Mirror bracket replacements

Post by Tony292 »

So I found some mirror. Brackets, from a 61- 68 international pickup truck. The curvature of the bracket matches perfectly with the sweptline door... I had to wallow out the mounting holes just a bit on the bracket, and they bolted right onto the west coast mirror bracket holes 2 out of 3 bolts. This is the best alternative I've seen to the factory mirror brackets.

I don't know if these are sold anymore or not, I've been looking but can't find them, might be a cheap alternative if someone does find them.

The patina of the international pickup was blue, same as my D200, although the brackets showed some peeling I chose to keep it that way, I like patina...

And since my truck just so happens to be the perfect color... I'll fill in those other pesky old west coast mirror holes with some blue RTV!!! They only make RTV in certain colors you know... It's like this was meant to be!!!
