Sounds cool. Low mile original crew cabs are rare enough, duallys even more so. Excuse me for being a little skeptical on the HPP though. Cant wait to see some pictures, didn't see anything in the registry.

Cool truck. I wonder if it was the only one ordered that way. It is even Yellow, Earl's favorite color.

Re: 1965 crew cab dully hpp
By definition this truck should not exists but it has all the hard parts and the VERY hard to fake parts in place. On top of that it has a ton of documentation to back up a custom order build from someone that really wanted it and had the means and pull with Chrysler to make it happen.slick wrote:Wow, didn't know there was such a thing! Brian has a cool truck. The underhood generator is crazy cool and that's just the start of all that is wild with this beasty.

Re: 1965 crew cab dully hpp
Or, is it converted to 4x4? It sure looks like it. If so, we need more details. All HPP trucks were automatics and all 4wd trucks were manuals until 1970. All 61-68 4wd trucks used the 2 lever NP201 transfer case. All 69-71 4wd trucks used the single lever NP205 transfer case. So how is this one equipped and was it ordered from the factory as a 4wd truck?Perkins64 wrote:It is converted to 4x4.

Re: 1965 crew cab dully hpp
this truck was converted by Brian or a previous owner. it is a D200 with dually axles. Brian plans to convert it back to stock and has retained all the original parts.soopernaut wrote:Or, is it converted to 4x4? It sure looks like it. If so, we need more details. one thing i have learned with the HPP and CSS trucks is never say never. this is a shining example that if you have enough money and enough pull the factory will build it for you.

Just for future reference...how hard was that axel swap to do? Is it as straight forward as I'm hoping it is?

Re: 1965 crew cab dully hpp
It was pretty much a bolt in for my application. Donner axles came from 1984 1 ton dodge truck. leaf springs and leaf spring perches were the same width. I had too build a drag link. watch for pumpkin clearance to the motor. Break lines were no problem as i remember. I started this up grade a decade ago when i used this truck to go to the dunes. Brian

Re: 1965 crew cab dully hpp
So it came with 6 lug axles? Most D200s had 8 lug axles, but most aren't duallies either. I suppose the axles were special ordered.
What items are listed on the SERT sticker on the driver's door jamb?

Re: 1965 crew cab dully hpp
As there probably wasn't an 8 lug 200 Series "off the shelf" dually axle in '65, I'm wonderingsoopernaut wrote:So it came with 6 lug axles? Most D200s had 8 lug axles, but most aren't duallies either. I suppose the axles were special ordered.

if the 300 Series 6-lug front/dually rear axles were used because they were readily available?
