Alrigth, I'm the second owner of this beast. Its a 1969 d200 longbed with a 383, 4:10 posi, a 727 torqueflight, and an interesting life.

The guy who owned it before me, in Tahoe, CA, aparently ran it off propane ( idk for how long ) but this means he added a bigger cam, and im pretty sure hardened the valves and re-did them frequently B/c propane runs hot.

Some time near his death, he replaced the floorboards in the cab (tahoe salts the roads..mustve been all rotted out) He replaced the transmission (score) and removed the propane set up.

My dad bought it from the original owners son after he died... idk how many years it sat in between. But my dad bought it for the Posi and the Bucket seats and the tailgate (which he got the buckets (rare option i guess) :banghead , took the tailgate :banghead :banghead ) but i still have the 4:10 rearend and healthy 383.

after taking the racks off and letting her sit for a year.. here she was

After doing a brakes and Lights tune up, as well as engine electrical and just a general tune-up I drove her 500+ miles from Tahoe to the central coast. MAde the trip just fine.

So far, ive lowered the rear 1",
threw on some headmann headers,
flowmaster exhaust witch dumps right before the rear wheels (sounds f*** amazing with that lopey cam)
and just done general tune ups like replace the power steering pump,
kit the stock 2bbl carb (i have an edelbrock 4bbl waiting to go in :2cents :2cents )
and other general maintienece and it already spins the wheels, I think ive really got something mean here. :thinking

I spent last semester getting DOWN with some body work,

the body was pretty straight to begin with but needed help so I started sanding and painting and pulling every little dent

The orig. owner used to haul rocks so the floor of the bed is basically a lost cause

Here she is back in my driveway, all primed up and dentless,
IMG_0712 yay!.jpg
I decided to do a tri tone and keep the roof white, and wheels black so i still haven't painted the roof but i will this coming fall

I already miss the matte look, might have to return to that later, and the big white letter tires look oh so classic :Thumbsup

So after all that was done, here she is on her day going into the booth
IMG_0775 in.jpg
The color I chose was "White Suede", it's a Ford color but its contrast with chryslers "capital white" and black look perfect.
and actually its so close to the original color you almost can't tell it apart from the unpainted roof and interior...

I shot this myself in a single stage, wich i had no clue how it was going to come out, but holy s***t, with the right teacher i made it happen beyond what i ever thought i could do, theres only one drip and its behind the bumper :pale

So after being happy with the way that turned out, i put the pieces back together,

i painted the inside of the body trim, which was in pretty good shape, i even salvaged most of the clips to put them back on to the bed,
but for the door and cab trim i ordered them online.. (and then found out they were at Napa)... so all in all i have a well put back together truck! now for the fun to begin....
"before" dnt get me wrong, i like the used look, and might rough up the paint in the future (dont mind doing the work)

and for the final product?

Nice looking truck.

ANY shop that does hydraulic lines can make you new ones, including NAPA or Carquest. The fittings aren't that uncommon.
If I didn't build it, it ain't mine.
