Finally on paper

Post by skyrodder666 »

Finally found somebody that knew sweptlines well enough to get this drawn up for me pretty easily. So I finally got my dream truck drawn and on paper. Really cool to see it come to life. Truck is going to be 1961 W300 CSS  Crew Cab LWB Utiline Dually. Really looking forward to building this truck. It's been floating around in my head for a while

Those are pretty cool drawings but what makes it a 61? A 61 crew cab body is going to be nearly impossible to find since Dodge didn't build any. The only differences between 61 and 62-early 65 are minor. The grille is a visual difference that separates them from other years, but the drawings don't have the 61 grille.

I can't wait to see the real thing.

Yea I realize the drawing doesn't have the right grill but whenever I build the truck I will use a 61 grill. I just think it was easier to use this grill as opposed to the 61. The other change I'll make is the rear steps will actually be a set of saddle tanks with steps since the rear crew cab steps are super hard to find.

Yes it is definitely going to be a Cummins! Will have newer disc brake axles and 94-98 Cummins engine, transmission, and transfer case. Still debating on whether I want a stick or an auto though. Frame is probably going to come from a common rail era so I can match what the wheelbase should be.

if you go AUTO invest in the allison transmission with adapter plate. you will never ever regret making the purchase. the engine will be bullet proof and so will the transmission. totally worth it!
