Hello everyone. My names Pano I'm 17 from ABQ, NM Im new here and thought I'd show you all the 63 power wagon that has been in our family since practically new. I'm fairly sure my grandpa bought this new, or at least almost new, in the 60's. He's not around anymore so I can't ask him to be sure, but he was firm on one thing, that it was a 63. This was his truck for the longest time, then it evolved into the work truck, and now its the yard ornament. Im looking to get this thing running once again, and so that possible a restoration can be done in the future. I think the only thing missing from this truck is the heater assembly due to my grandpa removing it in the mid 70's, and now its missing. Anyways, heres the truck, and I'm looking forward to getting as much info as possible about it.

That's a nice looking Power Wagon. I'm wondering if that box might
be of a later vintage [mid '65 to '68] ? :thinking Does it look like the
rear tires are "crowding" the fronts of the wheel wells? Just curious. :thinking
I'm interested in knowing about those wheels.... Are they 17.5" or 16" ?
If they're 16" an not a split ring wheel, they'd be a pretty rare item. You
can look up your VIN number on the Sweptline.com site. Click on the history
section and it should provide the link for the VIN decoder. :Thumbsup
If your wheelbase is 122" [noted on the VIN tag], you have a W200.

That looks like a transfer case driven Braden LU-2 winch on your truck.
They're pretty handy! Give us some particulars on the engine, etc. and

Thanks. I believe the rims are either a 16 or 16.5". You are correct on the LU-2 winch, it still works and does its job. One thing I'm not too sure on is that on the door tag it says it's a w100 model, yet it has 8 lug axles. I'll have to get a picture of it later.
The engine is the original 318 poly 2 barrel, 4 speed transmission (most likely an np435) and I have no idea on transfer case I would hope its a 205. Dana 44 closed knuckle up front and dana 60 in the rear both with 4.10 gears.
The bed is odd, most models I've seen have a reverse light under the tail lights, but not this truck. It's smooth with no sign of being welded on.
Once again any help is great. I have a lot of knowledge on the 70-80's trucks from our 79 w200, but not these.

If it is a W100, it'll have a 114" wheelbase. If the box has the
tall oval shaped tail lights and no provision for reverse lights, its
likely a mid-'65 or '66 model. Does the VIN tag indicate its a W100?
The twin stick transfer case [NP201] would be the original unit in
this truck.

Yes sir, door tag says w100. I can take pictures tomorrow just to be sure. Also to measure the wheel base can I just take a tape measure and measure from hub to hub? For the bed, where would the reverse lights normally go on 65-66 models? On the truck my grandpa just put a big halogen light bolted onto the bumper.

The side trim on the bed is what was used in late 65-68. If the bed doesn't have round taillights, but has the oblong style, it is a later bed. 1967 was the 1st year for factory reverse lights so that bed may not have any.

The plate that has the W100 designation also has your transmission model and wheelbase listed on it, but we already know it is 114 inches unless the truck was put on a different frame. As mentioned the transfer case was originally a NP201 with 2 sticks.

All 61-68 W100 trucks had 3/4 ton axles and a short bed. The W200 had a long bed unless it was a crew cab, which could have either bed.

I'll be heading over to my grandparents house here pretty soon so I'll take lots of photos. From what my dad says, the bed has never been replaced. But from what all you guys say, it's not stock. I don't know what to say haha.

One thing to check, if it is the original bed, it will be single wall. If it is a later bed , it will be double wall. ( also wide trim was available '65 1/2-'68.) :Thumbsup

Original interior besides the seat. It was reupholstered in the 70's the vinyl is still good except for the passenger side. and can someone tell me what all these knobs do? Im confused on most of them. the gauges might need new glass also as its cracked in two places.

That is a later bed. Your bed should look like this:

You also have a NP420 transmission, not a 435.

What's also interesting is that I think I see a center stake pocket
in that box.... :thinking That would mean that its a long box. If
this is a 114" wheelbase truck, I'm wondering if it [box] was cut down.
You might want to match the VIN# to the frame VIN# just to make
sure. The frame # is normally found on the right front above the
axle.... or close to that area. :study :salut

I'm pretty positive that my grandpa just cut a hole for a center stake. That would match his style of "if it doesn't fit, I'll make it" haha. I wish he were around to ask these questions. From what I hear, it's all stock. It could have been that the bed was switched in the early or late sixties. That would make more sense than it being changed later in its years. The rust on the bed and the body definitely match though . And compared to our other long bed truck it's about the same size too.

As for the knobs: V-cowl fresh air vent, W -wipers, D-defrost,H-heater,B-blower motor. :Thumbsup

So basically those last three are pointless, as the whole heater assembly was removed.

What about the C on the left side?

That would make sense. I have to figure out some wiring with this truck. I was looking at a Ron Francis wiring harness. Has anybody has good experiences with them? Which kit should I get if we were to get one for the truck.
