Re: New Guy 70 D100
Sorry for the rough first post, it took me a bit to figure out how to post the pics! Its a 1970 D100 318 A230 3 on the tree, 3:23 rear. I have had it a little over a week and done a bunch so far fixing previous owners work. One question I have is are the mirrors on the truck stock? I assume the heads might have been switched? The truck body is really solid overall. It was sold new in Pensacola, Fla. It was there until the mid 90's and then it went to Mississippi until the last week when it arrived here in Michigan. It has manual steering, manual brakes, non hydraulic clutch, radio delete, manual choke from the factory. Apparently just a V8 and a long bed for options? It does have aftermarket or dealer installed A/C That still blows cold ( thermo king ). I'm a Mopar guy, I have 2 1967 Newports, a 1969 charger ( eternal restoration) and the 70 dodge D100. I saw it and fell in love with it. Had it shipped here from Mississippi. It needs some love that its getting but its just a blast to drive. I really appreciate the info on the site as well as a great source to find parts. Some good people on here!

Thanks spoon, she was originally maroon as far as I can tell. I like the red look. Thanks for the kind words, I really appreciate it!

Nice looking D100! The 3.23 is a great highway gear.
If you want to get the back of your hood down closer to the fenders/cowl, put
some shims in between the [front] hood and hood hinge.... This will drop the
rear of the hood closer to home...

Where have you been? It seems that everybody paints them Red.Spoon wrote:Looking Good havent seen many in red
The mirrors look like they may not be original, but there were so many kinds available. It also looks like you have the optional taillight trim. Do you have to drive over 2 curbs to get in the garage?

Re: New Guy 70 D100
Making some progress. I was surprised how well the paint came back to life! I have replaced the alternator, starter, regulator, engine wiring harness, gas tank and got new tires on her. A bunch of misc. repairs as well. Having fun with it! I still need to align the doors and hood. The drivers door shuts easily but its like the catch on the body needs to be in more to make the door flush. It looks like its as far back as it can go though. The passenger door needs to come up some as you have to lift it slightly to close it. No play in either hinge though. I am not sure if you just loosen the three bottom hinge bolts in the door to adjust while lifting on the back of the door? Hope everyone had a great 4th of July!
