Newbie 1966 dodge d200
Hey all!
I recently received these pictures of my 1966 dodge d200 sent to me from my grandpa. It was the trucks first voyage in 15 years. About a year ago when i was visiting from the west coast he noticed i had taken a liking too a beat up truck that was sitting in a barn. The year prior i had just began to start to like classic cars like the gramps. He could never understand why out of all his classic cars(about 6 or so) i liked this one, it was the most beat of his vehicles. So right then and there he gave me the dodge. The word was that the truck would be done in the fall, but that wasn't the case. After swapping the rear end and replacing the floor pans and some cap corners ect...ect.. the truck is now done after a year of work and alot of waiting on my part. But who can complain on getting a dodge that was handed down from your Grandpa. Now im 18 and ready to get my hands dirty with grease and start working on this beauty!!! The truck was originally owned by my grandpas friend in Colorado who had bought it from someone in that state in the early 80s. When he received the truck he put new tires and spark plugs and drove it back to Vermont where it is today. Now its time to save it from the rust and get it out to California. SO IF ANYONE KNOWS ANY GOOD AUTO CARRIERS PLEASE LET ME KNOW! Thanks for checking it out!

I love it.
BTW - that bed trim shouldn't be hard to find but you'll need to fix that side before it goes on assuming you want to keep it on.

Nice truck! Cool that it's staying in the family. Are you planning on putting a 1/2 ton front axle under it? Just curious...

Re: Newbie 1966 dodge d200
Best bet for shipping is Uship.com
You can find all kinds of people on there willing to hot shot stuff.
If the vehicle is by a major highway for pickup and drop off you can try one of the major carriers, just look up auto shipping on line and there are a ton.
That will be a long haul so be prepared to pay some cash. I shipped mine from Montana to Tennessee without to much trouble, little over a grand

Welcome to the site.
You can try contacting Gary at PDQ Auto Movers. He's
a fellow Sweptline guy. You'll get a little discount if you
tell him you're moving your truck and you are a forum
member here. Might be worth
a try.

, nice truck. You are probably looking at around $1/mile to ship it. Looks like it's around 2,900 miles away. Best of luck on finding a good shipping price.

Re: Newbie 1966 dodge d200
Since it is owned by family, I would go and visit while getting it road ready. Then you could drive it home. I'm sure that would cost a lot less that having it shipped. You could even go there with a trailer and haul it yourself.
Re: Newbie 1966 dodge d200
Wish i could! Just took a bunch of time off work recently so im all out of vacca days. The only option i have is to ship it =/soopernaut wrote:Since it is owned by family, I would go and visit while getting it road ready. Then you could drive it home. Re: Newbie 1966 dodge d200
hey guys!
Junk wanted to give ya'll an update on my 66 dodge d200! She now in california and looking better than ever, now shes in a stable climate. She been a great project for a first timer and most of the work except the exhaust and tires i have done myself. Heres a list of what has been done. First off she has had a polish and a wax along with a removal of the bad surface rust on the hood. new tires and dual exhaust, rebuilt carb, new starter relay, valve covers changed, new champion radiator, re painted the black chrome strip, new front and rear windshield gaskets, took the gas tank out from under the seat and put a 71 chevy tank under the bed, new fuel pump, new alternator, new fuses, new battery, new brake cylenders-shoes-adjustmentwheels-drum seals. At the moment i have the heater out to change the heater core and clean it up a bit. Lastly im stoked to have found this site and thanks to everyone who has helped me out! keep on keepin on!
