Had a mixture of a vehicle transporter show up at the dealership today......Which one looks out of place?
Also on the bottom was another import crossover vehicle, a brand new 2012 GMC cab and chassis (which is what we got) and a newer Heritage Softtail Harley
They wouldnt let me crawl up on the transporter to take pics of the interior of the truck (something about insurance and i didnt look too sure-footed )
Almost had a little of everything on there
Top is the truck, a newer Niss@n crossover, a Hunda car, So an interesting vehicle transporter showed up today

That appears to be an M715. Kaiser/Jeep supplied them during the Viet Nam
War & afterward.

not to many years ago. One of my favorite Jeeps.
Re: So an interesting vehicle transporter showed up today
Only produced for the military for 2 years... '67-'68 I think.

Jeep M715 only produced for a couple years as it was a total failure in the real world. I dont know why Dodge lost the contract for that class of vehicle and jeep got it but the engines in those truck were extremely unreliable. an aluminum overhead cam POS. the M37s were twice the truck. the M715 is great IF you re power it wih a better engine. I have talked with motor pool mechanics who were in Nam and they sid the M715s were just parked and not runnng most the time and all the real work was done by the M37 Dodges. never buy a peep

In 1965, Jeep developed the M715 1.25-ton army truck, a militarized version of the civilian J-series Jeep truck, which served extensively in the Vietnam War. It had heavier full-floating axles and a foldable vertical flat windshield. Today, it serves other countries, and is still being produced by Kia under license.
The CJ ("Civilian Jeep") series began in 1945 with the CJ-2A followed by the CJ-3B in 1953. These early Jeeps are commonly referred to as "flatfenders" because their front fenders were flat across the front, the same as their military precedents, the Willys MB and identical Ford GPW models. The CJ-4 exists only as a 1951 prototype, and is the "missing" link between the flat-fendered CJ-2A and CJ-3B and the round-fendered CJ-5 first introduced in 1955
