My Work in Progress

Post by WD »

Okay guys, you asked for it. Don't know when I'll get more of the painting and such done. Gotta figure out my work schedule, and try to plan for the weird weather around here this year.

Image
Like the wrinkled bumper? Thank you Wal-mart parking lot.

Image
The grill is 1000 times worse than the photo shows.

Image
Bumper lights are run/stop. Reverse lights don't work. Bed lights are run/turn. Yes, those are gate latches on the bed. Like the big rig mirrors? The tow chain clips are actually steering stabilizer brackets for a one ton 4X4...

Whatcha think? Typical farm truck gone bad?

PS, try refresh if the pics don't come up.
If I didn't build it, it ain't mine.

It looks like a good candidate for fixin' up. Not that much different than mine was when I started... just an old truck that had been used as a truck for a lot of years.
Thanks for the pics!

BUMPER LIGHTS

Post by MOPAT »

I'm SURPRISED that the rear bumper lights survived a trip to WALLYWORLD (WEIRDWORLD).

I've NEVER seen so many PLUS SIZED women in so many yards of spandex! They ought to be buying mirrors so they might get a clue as to how ridiculous they look. :banghead :moom

Actually, I'd like to know why does anyone even make spandex in sizes that big? :thinking Should be against the law or something. :shame And who is telling them all they look good in it or encouraging them to buy it? What's the world coming to? :joker

But in all seriousness, the truck looks like it was pretty well cared for. If it were mine, I'd swap out the mirror heads only (I like the visibility from the "Cali style" truck mirrors but prefer the old "chevron back" pattern), fix the rear lights, swap out the rear bumper, fix the tailgate and then just drive it. Swap the grille and bumper if you find a good one, otherwise, use and enjoy!

Nice old truck! :Thumbsup

what makes you think it's spandex... just the same ole polyester stuff they wore 20 years and 15 sizes ago. A second with the hair dryer, and it fits just like spandex...

OK, all that just ruined my lunch. I should thank myself for the imagery...
Thanks, Clint

Y'all talking about the tight spandex and how there should be a size limit reminds me of when my son was swimming on a swim team and was required to wear a Speedo swim suit. I went to all the sporting goods stores in town trying to find one in a kids size. Now, get this mental image... I'm 5'7" and about 240 lbs and I'm walking in asking the clerk if he sells Speedos. The looks on their faces was priceless ! Ya know, I just knew he was imagining my vertically challenged and horizontally enhanced physique in a Speedo....EWW! hahaha!
P.S. i like the green truck, have fun !
