Post by Cageman »

Here is a 64 shorty that a local put all the frame engine floor pan interior out of a 05 srt10. It is just about done, he was doing ac work today when I was there, couldnt believe my eyes how nice it turned out.

That does look really nice. I wonder how hard welding the newer floor to the old cab was. :thinking

he stretched the cab and doors six inches, thats why it looks different. That way the seats and frame would be the right distance. srt seats are still factory bolted up, even uses srt carpet still.

wow thats bitchin. Never thought I would say this, but the wheels almost look to big. Or maybe just needs to be lowered a little. How does it look in person?

Personally, I think the stance is perfect. Maybe it is the stretch that makes it more proportional to me. IDK, but it works :Thumbsup

WOW! I could spend hours asking that guy questions and looking that one over! I'm even liking how the dash is fitting. I'm not big on swapping in other dashboards, but that is looking good.

I'd love to see him come on the site and show a bunch of pictures of the work on the cab. I often wished our cabs were longer, being a rather tall guy with long legs. But it numbs my mind (further... ) to think of how to pull that off. Even the downward drop of the roofline looks right. Gotta love a metallic green! :Thumbsup I noticed the other day that the new Camaros have a nice green out now. Not going onto my truck, but just a suggestion.

Big rig taillights. You can buy the gaskets at any truck stop, the lenses there or at Wal-mart (who has them for $15 each, instead of $45 at most dealers/truck stops).

That looks great so far. I even like the light green, but then again, I used to ride Kawasakis. I even rather like the modern rims on it, usually prefer much older types.

I'd drive it.

I cant remember, it is either, chevy camaro green, or dodge challenger/viper green. He has one of each of those cars too in that color, but they are next door. He did say it isnt the same green, one is darker.

Thanks for following up with this guy again Cageman! Can't wait to see this truck when completed. Do you have any shots from the front end? I guess I would question if the wheels were too big as well. (22"?) Still looks great though! But I'd bet it does look better/right in person.

It's been a dream of mine to build a truck like that for some time. Always wanted to do it to a 69, but the looks of the 64's have turned me. Glad to see someone doing it, and doing it right! Keep the updates coming.
