Mirror Brackets

Are these mirror brakets the west coast style? They came on my 70 D100 without the mirrors, just the brackets. I recently bought mirrors off of eBay. Not sure if the brackets that came on the truck are rare or what? :thinking

I think the West Coast mirrors attach with two screws or bolts at the bottom and two at the top and they are higher on the flat part of the door. They are not of the style posted here.

These pictures are of the passenger side of a 1970W200 that came equipped with factory West Coast JR. mirrors. I believe the forward most triangular mounts were the same holes as the traditional mirror mounts. The rest of the holes were made to accomodate the various arms. There were several mirror options available, so the brackets and arms were probably different.

Since the first truck does not have the holes for the second triangle they can't be for the same brackets that the second truck has. There were many different styles of mirror brackets available so it is difficult to determine what was there originally. Jr. West Coast mirrors had 2 bolt or screw attachments on the top and two at the bottom and attached to the flat parts of the door and had a 11x6 head. West Coast mirrors had a 16x7 head and had several different bracket styles.

Soopernaut,
Correct me if I'm wrong....but you are saying that the factory mirrors on my truck are known as West Coast Mirrors and not West Coast JR mirrors. Mine are 16x7.
Thanks
John

I'm pretty sure your mirrors are the West Coast style.
The West Coast Jrs. have two smaller mounting brackets
which attach to the window frame of the door above the
vent window and at the top of the curved portion of the
door above the body line.... basically what Soopernaut
explained. :Thumbsup

Those holes for the mirror bracket look like the ones on my crew cab.

Thanks to all the responses. I have seen mirrors that fold back but they look like the usual round mirror and post. Could these brackets possibly be to the fold back style mirrors? :thinking
