That would stay clean for about 5 minutes in my engine compartment. What are you running a poly in?? I thought it was going to be a 440 real soon??
Thanks, Clint

LMMFAO!!!!!! seabee.....
clint, it will be 440, but i need it to run in the mean time. the intake was already in the powder coat circle when the 440 deal was finalized. im going to take my time on the 440, but i wont neglect the rebuilt poly thats already under the hood. chrome intake, chrome valve covers, fresh paint on the block, chrome coil, you know, all the stuff that makes it go faster. gotta have something to show off at the cruise in come june.

the poly in it is sitting just under 10k miles right now. it was freshened up, not rebuilt. the block was still in specs for standard bore, so it got new rings, new bearings, a nielson rv cam and was put back togather. no boring or machine work. the heads had a full rebuild thought. its got the 4bbl cast iron intake, new dist with petronix kit (the dist hasnt even been fired yet its that new, bought it last friday), flow cooler water pump, chrome valve covers, accel chrome blaster coil, new fuel pump, and what looks to be a pretty new starter as well. when the time comes, it will be posted here for negotiations. it will be a complete running motor minus the carb. this will for sure be one of them come get it deals, no way im gonna try to crate and ship this big SOB! and by the time it goes for sael, all the bugs will be worked out and it will be running at top potential.

How good does that powder coat clean up? I know polished alum. should be banned from the planet. Powder coat is usually pretty durable.....Goldie

the powder coat is baked on at 450-475 degrees, its solvent, oil and gas resistant, and has a nice smooth finish. so it cleans up real nice. this is the same stuff they are coating all the reciever hitches and most "painted" steel wheels with now. hardly any wheels are painted anymore, they are all powder coated.
